Trump and Michael Jordan Among Celebrities at 2025 Ryder Cup

The 2025 Ryder Cup officially began on Friday at the Bethpage Black Course in Long Island, New York, drawing a host of celebrity attendees including former US President Donald Trump and basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Trump, an avid golfer, arrived at the first tee box to a mix of cheers and boos, accompanied by his 18-year-old granddaughter Kai. He is expected to watch approximately three hours of play before departing.

The three-day tournament features 24 players, with the US team captained by Keegan Bradley and the European team led by English golfer Luke Donald. The European squad includes players from Great Britain, Scandinavia, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, and Austria.

Earlier this week, the event hosted an All-Star match with celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic, including SNL's Colin Jost, singers Noah Kahan and Miranda Lambert for the US, and Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, Harry Potter stars Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps, and retired Finnish hockey player Teemu Selanne for Europe.

The Ryder Cup runs from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28.
