Tottenham Hotspur begin their pre-season preparations with a behind-closed-doors friendly against MK Dons on Wednesday evening.
Spurs have been training at Hotspur Way for two weeks, and new head coach Roberto De Zerbi will get his first look at the squad in a match setting.
Tottenham have spent over £200 million on six new signings this summer. Both Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali are in line to feature against MK Dons, though Tonali may have limited minutes after joining pre-season late due to work permit issues.
Team news and absentees
Fellow new signing Martin Dubravka has trained, but players involved at the World Cup have not yet joined the squad. Scotland left-back Andy Robertson attended Hotspur Way on Tuesday for his first day as a Spurs player after signing on a free transfer from Liverpool.
Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero and Marcos Senesi are taking extended breaks following the World Cup final. Djed Spence, who helped England finish third at the World Cup, will also be absent.
Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert are still recovering from anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Mohammed Kudus is working back from a quad injury, and Dejan Kulusevski missed all of last season with a knee problem.
Youngsters to watch
Mikey Moore has been training with the first team and could get minutes against MK Dons. De Zerbi is yet to decide on Moore's first-team future after an impressive loan at Rangers.
Academy player Jamie Donley has also impressed De Zerbi and may feature. De Zerbi is expected to make heavy rotations to give all players game time.
Predicted Tottenham XI: Kinsky; Takai, Phillips, Davies, Udogie; Fernandes, Tonali; Yang, Donley, Tel; Solanke.
The friendly kicks off at 5pm BST on Wednesday July 22, 2026, at Hotspur Way behind closed doors.
