Paul Pogba Predicts Man Utd Premier League Title Under Michael Carrick
Pogba Backs Carrick to Lead Man Utd to Premier League Title

Paul Pogba has expressed confidence that Manchester United will end their Premier League title drought under the management of Michael Carrick. Carrick, who impressed as interim boss last season by guiding the club back to the Champions League, was appointed permanent head coach in the summer. The Red Devils are already planning to support Carrick in the transfer market, with moves for Ederson and another central midfielder in the pipeline.

Pogba's Bold Prediction

Pogba believes these signings could help the club end their 13-year wait for a Premier League title. When asked by talkSPORT if the club could claim the crown under former teammate Carrick, the Frenchman replied: “Yes. I think Manchester United will win in the next years, they’re going to be champions of the Premier League. If Arsenal can be champions then Manchester United will definitely be champion. It’s a big statement. No disrespect but I believe they will. In the next five years they’re going to win. Maybe I went a bit far, I will say in the next three years. In my opinion I think they can make it.”

Pogba's Career and Recent Comments

Pogba, now 33, had two spells at Manchester United. He was initially at Old Trafford from 2009 to 2012 but left for Juventus due to limited opportunities. United re-signed him for a world record £88 million in 2016, and he scored 39 goals in 226 appearances, though he failed to consistently meet expectations before returning to Juventus on a free transfer. In February 2024, Pogba received a ban for a failed drugs test, which was later reduced, and he has since played for Ligue 1 side Monaco.

His United prediction comes shortly after he tipped France to win another World Cup, claiming the current squad is better than the one he helped to victory in 2018. Speaking to ESPN, Pogba said: “Yeah. I think everybody sees them as favourites. They have to [be]. They have probably the best players in the world. But obviously, that is not enough to win a World Cup, and there is more pressure on them. For me, as players -- talent and everything -- I think they're better than us. Yeah, I think they're better than us. But then, obviously, hopefully, that will make them win the World Cup.”
