Masters Unveils New Player Services Building with Unmatched Locker Room

Augusta National Golf Club has revealed the first images of its new Player Services Building, a three-storey structure designed to elevate the player experience at the Masters. The building, located behind the practice range hitting area, is discreetly nestled among trees, blending seamlessly with the club's traditional aesthetic.

The new locker room on the ground floor features 100 lockers, each equipped with a safe, a phone charging shelf, and a gold-plated Masters emblem on the handle. Name plates are arranged randomly, not alphabetically, with six amateurs placed next to champions. The lounge area includes a table crafted from magnolia wood from a tree felled during Hurricane Helene in September 2024.

Players enter via a tunnel under Magnolia Lane into an underground garage. The corridor walls display Alister MacKenzie's cross-section architecture of every hole at Augusta National. A short hallway features framed thank-you letters from Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods, including Woods' 1997 letter after his record-breaking win.

The lounge pays tribute to co-founder Bobby Jones, showcasing his four trophies from the 1930 Grand Slam—the British Amateur, British Open, U.S. Open, and U.S. Amateur—on loan from the Atlanta Athletic Club. The top floor houses the Magnolia Dining Room, offering convenience and luxury.

Downstairs, a state-of-the-art fitness centre includes a stretching area, cable and weight stations, and a concrete wall for medicine ball throws—a nod to Rory McIlroy's mishap in the old cart barn. The recovery room has three cold plunges, one hot tub, a sauna, and 16 treatment tables. A hallway features name plates of all 1,400-plus Masters competitors.
