Tributes have been paid to Kenny Jackett after his death at the age of 64. The former Wales international and long-serving manager passed away, leaving behind a legacy in English football.
Watford Mourns a True Club Legend
Watford are mourning the loss of a “true club legend” who made 428 total appearances as a player before later taking over as manager at Vicarage Road. Jackett’s contributions to the club both on and off the pitch have been remembered fondly.
A Distinguished Managerial Career
Jackett had a long managerial career in the EFL after knee injuries forced his early retirement at 28. He led several clubs, including Swansea, Millwall, Wolves, Rotherham, Portsmouth, and Leyton Orient. His tactical acumen and leadership were widely respected across the leagues.
He also spent three years as an assistant manager at QPR and was most recently director of football at Gillingham, leaving in November 2024 for medical reasons.
More to follow as the football community pays its respects.
