Harry and Meghan UK Return Hint Spotted by Fans

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a potential clue ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK next month for the One Year to Go event for the Invictus Games. The couple will be making their first joint return in four years, with Meghan not having visited since she attended Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral in September 2022.

Despite claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been offered accommodation at a royal residence for their July stay, it has been noted that Diana, Princess of Wales' ancestral home, Althorp House in Northamptonshire, will be briefly closed from July 10 - 11. The home, which is now lived in by Prince Harry's uncle, Charles, Earl Spencer, is otherwise open to the public from July 1 until August 31.

Prince Harry did previously stay at Althorp with Earl Spencer during his UK return in September 2024 to attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. However, Althorp does close at other stages of the year, and there is no confirmation that this year's two-day closure has anything to do with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's return to the UK.

The Althorp Estate has been contacted for comment. The Daily Mail reported that Harry and Meghan have been offered a stay at a royal residence but have yet to respond. Prince Harry has also been offered accommodation at Buckingham Palace on previous visits home over the years, but has turned it down, claiming the Palace was not secure enough.

It remains unclear which royal residence was offered as an option for the upcoming visit, which will reportedly see the couple return with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The update comes after The Sun reported that King Charles has intervened to privately fund security for the family's trip.

Back in May 2025, Harry lost a legal case to have his police protection reinstated whenever he returns to the UK. In a bombshell BBC interview after the ruling, Harry said that it was "too dangerous" to bring his family to the UK as he could not guarantee their safety. In December, it was claimed that Harry's security access when he visits the UK was under review. However, no change to the arrangements has been publicly announced, and it remains unclear when an announcement will be made.
