Martin O'Neill says Kasper Hogh and Kieran Tierney could make their injury comebacks against St Johnstone. The key pair have been sidelined since Celtic's crushing 5-1 Champions League defeat at LASK.
Ahead of Wednesday's trip to McDiarmid Park, O'Neill hopes the duo will play some part in Perth. Danish hitman Hogh returned to training earlier in the week, with Tierney back on the grass at Lennoxtown this morning.
O'Neill's fitness update
O'Neill said: "Kasper's back the last couple of days. Kieran did a little bit of work this morning, first time back. We've got a couple of other little fitness issues with other players."
"Kasper has had the extra day, we'll see how they are tomorrow morning."
Selection options up front
Meanwhile, O'Neill admits he's happy to have a selection headache with Hogh back competing for the number nine jersey up front. Colombian sensation Duran has sparkled playing through the middle but could be shifted out wide to accommodate record signing Hogh, with Yang called up for the Asian Games.
O'Neill said: "I'm pleased to have it. We'll see how we're fixed at some stage or another. When everybody is fit, it's a matter of trying to get your best players on the field."
"We've definitely got better options up front than we did last season. Daizen was fantastic and Iheanacho scored vital goals. Between the two of them, they got us over the line in that sense."
"We feel as if we've got better options and are capable of scoring goals. Whereas last season I was wondering where the goals were going to come from."
