Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have both criticised the decision to send off Ryan Gravenberch during Liverpool's match against Manchester City at Anfield, describing the red card as harsh.
The Holland midfielder was dismissed on the hour mark after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Jeremy Doku.
Pundits question the decision
Carragher said: "Feels really harsh when you think of two tackles. The first was not a yellow, it was so harsh, it was a nothing challenge, the referee was far too quick to get the card. The first was the same, the referee was so quick to get a yellow out."
Neville added: "That is very, very soft. Knowing you're on a yellow and on the wrong side of Doku, does he need to make the challenge? Giving the referee a dilemma."
Match impact
Liverpool were reduced to 10 men as a result of the sending off, leaving them to face Manchester City with a numerical disadvantage for the remainder of the match.
