Jos Buttler and Harry Brook powered England to 217-1 after 17 overs, with an unbroken partnership past 200 runs. Only a handful of such stands have been recorded among Full Member nations.
Record Partnership
The duo surpassed Pakistan's 203 against England, joining an elite list that includes India's 210 against South Africa, Australia's 223 against Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan's 236 against Ireland.
Arshdeep's Over
Arshdeep Singh returned to the attack and managed to calm the scoring rate momentarily, but not without extras. The over yielded eight runs, including four wides. He had a leg-before-wicket review that was turned down due to pitching outside leg. Brook was also dropped by Tilak Varma at long-off, diving forward on a half-volley. Buttler and Brook each took a single, with the over also featuring a leg bye.
