Wiegman Names England Squad for Euro 2025 Qualifiers

Sarina Wiegman has named her England squad for the upcoming Euro 2025 qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden, with Lauren James, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Kayla Rendell all missing out due to injury. The trio will remain with their clubs to continue their recovery.

Mary Earps and Niamh Charles have been included in the 25-player squad as they continue their rehabilitation within the England set-up. Earps limped off during the defeat to France last month and was later seen on crutches, while Charles is working back to full fitness.

England currently sit third in Group A3 with seven points, behind Sweden on goal difference and leaders France on nine. Automatic qualification hinges on the upcoming double-header, with second place enough to secure a spot at Euro 2025 without needing playoffs.

Wiegman has handed a first call-up to Orlando Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse, who will join the squad after club commitments on 8 July. Georgia Stanway will also link up later after Bayern Munich's pre-season preparations.

The Lionesses face the Republic of Ireland on 12 July before hosting Sweden on 16 July. Ireland have lost all four group matches and cannot qualify automatically, while England drew with Sweden in their previous meeting.
