Alejandro Garnacho scored a stoppage-time winner as Manchester United edged Fulham 4-4 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at Craven Cottage. The 18-year-old substitute slid in the decisive goal in the third minute of added time, capping an end-to-end contest that marked the final domestic fixture before the World Cup break.
The match had a 'last day of term' feel, with both sides playing with abandon. United took the lead through Anthony Martial after 14 minutes, but Fulham equalised through former United winger Dan James. The game swung back and forth, with United's Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes also on the scoresheet, while Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic was absent due to injury.
The win moved United to within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham, with a game in hand. The absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was left out of the squad, was of little concern as United have averaged 2.2 points per game without him this season compared to just one point per game when he starts.
