Bournemouth Complete £10m Signing of Chelsea Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic

Bournemouth have completed the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for a fee of around £10 million. The 29-year-old has agreed personal terms and undergone a medical, marking his return to the club after a loan spell in 2007.

Begovic's last appearance for Bournemouth came in September 2007 against Carlisle in League One, 3,531 days ago. The Bosnian international joins Eddie Howe's side after Chelsea refused to let him leave in January until they had secured a replacement.

Begovic expressed his delight at rejoining the club, tweeting: 'Happy to be joining @afcbournemouth. Looking forward to working with Eddie Howe and the team.' Chelsea also wished him well, posting: 'Thank you, @asmir1! Wishing you all the very best for the future.'

The deal strengthens Bournemouth's goalkeeping options as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League season. Begovic previously spent time on loan at the Vitality Stadium nearly a decade ago.
