Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly being considered for the vacant Wolves managerial position, according to sources. The Premier League's bottom side sacked Vitor Pereira on Sunday after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham, leaving them without a win this season.
Pereira was dismissed just weeks after signing a new three-year contract, having been appointed in December 2024 to replace Gary O'Neil. O'Neil, now out of work, is in talks over a potential return to Molineux, but the club is also exploring other options including Ten Hag.
The Dutchman has been available since his sacking by Bayer Leverkusen in September after just three matches. He previously managed Manchester United for two and a half years, winning the League Cup in 2022 and the FA Cup in 2023 before being dismissed last October.
Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi confirmed the decision, stating: 'Unfortunately, the start to this season has been a disappointment and, despite our strong desire to give the head coach time and matches to find an improvement, we have reached a point where we must make a change.'
Other candidates on the shortlist include former Middlesbrough coach Michael Carrick and Rob Edwards, currently leading Boro in the Championship. Wolves are rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from 10 matches, eight points from safety, ahead of a trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
