FIFA president Gianni Infantino posted an open letter urging detractors to “take a moment to reflect, meditate, pray” after the Geopolitics World Cup, which was marked by controversies including US visa restrictions, concerns over teams from conflict-hit regions, soaring ticket prices, and the suspension of a one-match ban for USA striker Folarin Balogun after US president Donald Trump called Infantino directly.
