Jamie Vardy has paid tribute to former Leicester City teammate Conor Coady after the defender completed a move to Wrexham. The Foxes received a £2 million fee for the 32-year-old, who struggled for regular game time at the King Power Stadium following an injury that disrupted his 2023/24 season.
Coady left a positive impression on Vardy, who commented on the defender's exit message to Leicester fans: 'All the best brother. What a player and person.' Vardy himself departed Leicester at the end of the 2024/25 season after his contract expired.
Despite speculation linking Vardy with a move to Wrexham, the 38-year-old's future remains uncertain, and it does not appear he will join the Welsh side. Wrexham, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been active in the transfer market, also agreeing a £2 million fee for Sheffield United striker Kieffer Moore.
The club are reportedly interested in Wolves' 19-year-old Brazilian winger Pedro Lima on loan. Former Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie believes Wrexham could challenge for a Premier League place in the near future, citing their fan base and financial backing.
