When Can Van Hecke and Robertson Make Their Tottenham Debuts?
Van Hecke and Robertson Debut Wait Continues

Neither Jan Paul van Hecke nor Andy Robertson were involved in Tottenham's pre-season victory over Auckland FC on Sunday, delaying their debuts for the club. The defensive signings have now watched two friendlies from the sidelines as they await their first minutes in Spurs colours.

New Signings Yet to Feature

Right-back Robertson, previously of Liverpool, joined as a free agent before Scotland's World Cup campaign, while Van Hecke was signed from Brighton during the tournament. Tottenham have invested over £200m this summer, bringing in Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to overhaul the midfield.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi has kept his cards close to his chest, giving no senior players extended run-outs in the 2-0 defeat of A-League champions Auckland FC. This was primarily to avoid injuries to key players following a 30-hour flight.

Next Opportunities

The next chance for Van Hecke and Robertson to make their debuts comes on Wednesday, when Tottenham face Sydney FC at 10.45am BST on July 29. De Zerbi will hope to have all his signings fit and available by then.

Should they miss that match, the pair could debut against Chelsea on Saturday, August 1, also kicking off at 10.45am for UK viewers.
