UFC 329: McGregor vs Holloway 2 Start Time, Fight Card

Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett are both fighting tonight at UFC 329. For McGregor, it is the end of a long spell out of the octagon as he faces Max Holloway for the first time since 2013 in an eagerly-anticipated main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. ‘Notorious’ has not fought at all for five years, with his last bout coming back in August 2021, when he suffered a gruesome leg break during the first round of his trilogy fight against rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

McGregor's Return and Holloway Rematch

Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor - who turns 38 next week - was initially supposed to return at UFC 303 two summers ago, but withdrew from a scheduled clash with Michael Chandler due to a toe injury. Now he is set to meet Holloway, a fellow UFC veteran and ex-featherweight champion who lost the ceremonial ‘BMF’ title he won with that unforgettable last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje in his last fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March.

Holloway previously beat Poirier in the latter’s retirement fight and saw another featherweight title attempt dismissed by Ilia Topuria. The 34-year-old now steps up to welterweight for the first time in his career.

Co-Main Event: Pimblett vs Saint Denis

Co-headlining UFC 329 is Liverpool favourite Pimblett, with ‘Paddy the Baddy’ out to bounce back quickly from his maiden UFC defeat by Gaethje at UFC 324 in January as he battles France’s No5-ranked lightweight contender Benoit Saint Denis, who is on a run of four straight victories having knocked out both Dan Hooker and Beneil Dariush.
