Tottenham injury update: Bergvall, Mudryk, Savio latest

Archie Gray was substituted at half-time during Tottenham's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, but manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the change was precautionary after the midfielder was booked in the first half, not due to injury.

Gray, who had opened the scoring for the hosts, was replaced by Pedro Porro at the interval. De Zerbi also revealed that Porro, returning from a one-month lay-off with a hamstring problem, had requested not to start the match after telling his manager he did not feel capable of playing from the off.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Lucas Bergvall

Tosin Adarabioyo impressed against Coventry in his first start for the club but picked up a calf problem in that outing. He did not feature against Chelsea and was omitted from the squad to face Palace. A potential return is set for Saturday November 7 against Leeds away.

Lucas Bergvall has been sidelined since the 1-1 draw at Manchester United after picking up a knock at Old Trafford. De Zerbi said the midfielder would be out for a fortnight. "Bergvall had a problem in Manchester early on in the first chance he created for [Dominic] Solanke," De Zerbi said. "He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he'll be out for two weeks." He could return for the trip to Leeds.

Savio and Mykhailo Mudryk

New signing Savio suffered a muscle strain against United and has not played since. De Zerbi said the Brazilian was "injured" ahead of the Palace match and that Spurs had lost the winger for "some weeks." He gave a more positive update before the game, saying Savio would likely return around the November international break, with a potential return date of Saturday November 21 against Ipswich at home.

Mykhailo Mudryk has played just once for Spurs since joining on loan from Chelsea. The winger picked up what De Zerbi called a "stupid" ankle injury in training following his debut against Nottingham Forest and was thought to be out for six to eight weeks. He missed the Palace squad but could be back in action this month, potentially against Leeds.

Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons

Wilson Odobert remains a long-term absentee recovering from an ACL tear picked up against Newcastle in February. De Zerbi has been cautious on his progress. "I don't know, because he has not started yet to work with us," the Italian said. "I have no idea [when he will return]." A return could come next month.

Xavi Simons is in the same situation, having ruptured his ACL against Wolves in April last season. He has not featured at all this term but has been seen working with a ball at Hotspur Way. A full return to the field is expected after the turn of the year, with a potential return date of early 2027.
