Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Igor Tudor to take charge as interim head coach until the end of the season, according to sources. The former Croatia and Juventus centre-back emerged as the leading candidate after the club decided to appoint an experienced temporary manager to replace Thomas Frank. There is no option to extend the deal beyond the summer.
Tudor, 47, was sacked by Juventus in October after just seven months in charge, following an eight-game winless run. However, he previously succeeded in an interim spell at the Italian side, leading them to Champions League qualification after replacing Thiago Motta. He was given a two-year contract in the summer but results dipped at the start of the next campaign.
Tottenham sit 16th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone. Their next match is not until 22 February, but it comes against league leaders and north London rivals Arsenal. Frank was dismissed on Wednesday after a run of just two wins in 17 league games, though results in the Champions League were better, with Spurs reaching the last-16.
For the permanent role, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a candidate, though he will take charge of the United States after the 2026 World Cup. Marco Rose, formerly of RB Leipzig, and Edin Terzic, who guided Borussia Dortmund to the 2024 Champions League final, are also contenders in what is expected to be a competitive managerial market this summer.
