Comedian Nikki Glaser has said she would apologise to Gisele Bündchen if they met, months after making jokes about the model and her ex-husband Tom Brady at a Netflix roast. Speaking to People on 23 December, Glaser admitted she had regrets about some of her comments during The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which aired in May.
“I have a feeling that Gisele wasn’t that happy with what I had said,” Glaser said, adding that she questioned herself before the event because Bündchen “wasn’t asking for this”. However, she justified the jokes at the time by saying the model “can probably handle it”. Glaser also noted that comedians often offend people and that she would not tell someone to “get over it”.
During the roast, Glaser quipped about Brady’s divorce from Bündchen, who split from him in 2022 after 13 years of marriage, and made a dig at her new boyfriend, jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. The joke referenced Brady’s success and Bündchen giving back her ring, followed by a quip: “The only thing dumber than saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.’”
Brady later said the roast’s jokes affected his children, Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12, and he would not do it again knowing that. Glaser responded that Brady likely knew what he was getting into given his research, but also noted his career may have shielded him from criticism.
Glaser, who will host the 2025 Golden Globes, said if she met Bündchen she would apologise for hurting her feelings. “I think comedy is always going to upset someone… if I were her, I would’ve been annoyed too,” she added.
