Manchester City will have almost a fully fit squad for their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with Antonie Semenyo the only player sidelined through injury. The forward injured his left knee three weeks ago during the 3-2 win over Ipswich Town and has missed five matches, with this weekend set to make it six.
Enzo Maresca ruled Semenyo out for eight weeks at the time of the injury. Speaking last Friday, City's coach said: "He's in the building, making the recovery sessions and the therapy that he needs, but it's too early for now."
Nico O'Reilly's ongoing fitness battle
The main injury update from Friday's pre-match press conference concerned Nico O'Reilly. Maresca said: "With Nico it's quite easy. Since we started the season, between his back, if you remember, before the Coventry game, he's had more problems, unfortunately."
"We just need to keep him fit because we know how good he is, and I have no doubt that in future he'll be in the international team again. It's what he needs - to use the break to do the right things in terms of therapy and these kinds of things to be 100% after the break."
Forest's setbacks and returns
Nottingham Forest will be without Nicolas Dominguez this weekend and, most likely, for the rest of the year. The former Argentina international had been due to return against City after missing the team's last two matches with a hamstring problem, but a re-injury has ended that prospect.
Forest head coach Oliver Glasner said: "Unfortunately, he had a setback and a re-injury, so he will be out for up to eight weeks now. That's really tough."
Nicolo Savona is also due to miss out as he continues his recovery from knee surgery in March. The full-back has not played since January because of the injury, but Glasner said on Friday: "Savona joined team training today."
Forest welcomed Igor Jesus back this week after the forward missed four matches with a calf injury. Glasner said: "Igor also trained the full week so far; he looks good, no reaction." Daniel Munoz and Dan Ndoye are doubts due to a foot issue and an illness respectively, though both are expected to be available.
