Curtis Jones's future at Liverpool remains uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract, with Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio confirming the Serie A club is monitoring the midfielder.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Ausilio said: “Curtis Jones, we are paying attention to him. We didn't hide. We understand what the developments will be.”
Jones, 25, played a career-high number of minutes for Liverpool in the 2025/26 season but struggled to secure a regular starting berth under former manager Arne Slot, often deployed at right-back before Slot's sacking last weekend. Incoming boss Andoni Iraola is expected to be active in the transfer market.
The England international, who has two Premier League winners' medals, an FA Cup and two League Cups, has made 228 appearances for the Reds, scoring 22 goals. However, he has never consistently held down his preferred midfield role due to injuries and managerial preferences.
Jones earned six caps for England, scoring on his debut against Greece in late 2024 under interim boss Lee Carsley, but has not featured for the national team in the past 12 months under Thomas Tuchel.
Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa, tipped to return to Serie A this summer, revealed Jones has been asking about life in Italy. “I told him you live very well and the weather is better than Liverpool,” Chiesa told Gazzetta dello Sport. “Jones is technically very strong, Inter are right to think about him.”
