Tim Sherwood Piles Pressure on 'Lost' Igor Tudor Amid Tottenham Crisis

Former Tottenham player and manager Tim Sherwood has launched a scathing critique of current Spurs boss Igor Tudor, claiming the Croatian looks "lost" as the club's alarming slide continues. Tottenham Hotspur remain winless since December, with their Premier League survival now under serious threat.

Tudor's Struggles and Sherwood's Criticism

Since replacing Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor has overseen three consecutive defeats against Arsenal, Fulham, and Crystal Palace. The team has failed to secure a single point under his leadership, leaving them just one point above the relegation zone. Sherwood, speaking to Sky Sports, expressed his concerns about Tudor's adaptation to English football.

"I think he's been slapped straight in the face by the competition in the Premier League," Sherwood stated. "This is a tough competition. He looks lost at times on the touchline; he knew nothing about it."

Tudor, who had never coached in England before taking the Tottenham job until the end of the season, initially expressed confidence that the club would avoid relegation. However, Sherwood notes a shift in his tone, as Tudor has begun citing issues such as player injuries, poor fitness levels, and deficiencies across the pitch.

Fan Frustration and Team Performance

The disillusionment among Tottenham supporters reached a peak during the recent defeat to Crystal Palace, where thousands of fans left the stadium by half-time. The team's performance has been dismal, with no league wins in 2026—a run of eleven games comprising seven losses and four draws.

Sherwood highlighted Tudor's changing rhetoric, pointing out that the manager has moved from guaranteeing Premier League survival to listing excuses. "He's gone from, 'I 100 per cent guarantee we spend next season in the Premier League', to, 'the players are not fit enough, we're not good in attack, we're not good in the middle, we're not good at the back'," Sherwood remarked.

Call for Leadership and Solutions

Emphasising the need for effective management, Sherwood urged Tudor to focus on the available players and provide clear guidance. "You've got to get on with what you've got. Forget all that nonsense. Concentrate on the players who are fit at the moment and try and give them a lift," he advised.

Sherwood warned that negative tactics could exacerbate the situation, stating, "You don't get that [new manager] bounce by having a stick and whacking them with it. Not if the downside looks like relegation. You have to give them a cuddle. You have to find the best solution."

As Tottenham face mounting pressure, the spotlight remains firmly on Igor Tudor to reverse their fortunes and secure their top-flight status.
