Paul Scholes' Daughter Sparks Family Row with Arsenal Shirt

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes had a blunt response when his daughter Alicia walked into the room wearing an Arsenal shirt just before the Premier League opener between the two sides. The 50-year-old former midfielder immediately told his 24-year-old daughter to “take it off”, but she refused.

The incident occurred at the Scholes family home ahead of Sunday's match at Old Trafford, which United lost 1-0 to a Riccardo Calafiori header. Alicia, who plays netball for London Pulse and England, filmed her father's reaction and shared it online.

Scholes, who won 11 Premier League titles with United, later expressed cautious optimism about his former club's season. “It's a tricky one after being so bad last year. Now seasons can change,” he said. “Top six would be more than acceptable.”

United travel to Fulham next Sunday, and Scholes will hope his daughter does not sport a Cottagers shirt. Alicia is one of three children Scholes shares with wife Claire Froggatt.
