Roy Keane's daughter Caragh has spoken publicly about her struggle with lupus, an autoimmune disease that left her bed-bound for weeks and forced her to give up her career as a primary school teacher. Diagnosed in 2021, she described the experience as feeling like 'life was over' and said she mourned the person she had been.
Caragh, the second-eldest of Keane's five children, launched her own wellness brand called Superkeen and has become an advocate for lupus awareness. She credited her parents, Roy and Theresa, with supporting her through the ordeal. Initial symptoms included hair loss, blistered skin and painful joints.
The news comes as Keane's family experiences a period of celebration. His daughter Leah married Southampton and England defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis this week in a countryside ceremony. Keane walked Leah down the aisle, and the couple already share a daughter, Iris, born in December.
Harwood-Bellis has spoken highly of his father-in-law, saying Keane has his best interests at heart. Keane joked about the nuptials after Harwood-Bellis scored against the Republic of Ireland in his only England appearance. Keane's son Aidan married last year, making Leah the second of his children to wed.
