Mourinho: No Pogba Problem, But Room for Improvement

José Mourinho has insisted there is no issue between him and Paul Pogba, despite dropping the midfielder for Manchester United's recent win over Huddersfield Town. The United manager acknowledged Pogba's potential but stressed the 24-year-old still has room to develop.

Mourinho dismissed suggestions of a rift, saying Pogba responded professionally to being left out. 'I've never had a single problem with him,' Mourinho said. 'It's difficult to play a midfielder with more potential than Paul.'

The Portuguese coach also addressed comments from former United captain Wayne Rooney, who described Pogba as a 'box-to-box' player who should be freed from defensive duties. Mourinho said he was 'confused' by that definition, arguing that a box-to-box midfielder must defend as well as attack.

On Luke Shaw, Mourinho confirmed the left-back is in line for a new contract after impressing this season. 'The natural consequence is that he will have his contract and he will be a United player for years,' he said.
