Michael Carrick hailed his Manchester United side after their draw with PSG, insisting the players were able to find solutions throughout the game.

The Red Devils took on the back-to-back Champions League winners in Sweden and fell behind inside two minutes despite Luis Enrique leaving out a lot of his frontline players. Bryan Mbeumo was able to equalise before half-time, and it was the Premier League side who finished the stronger and can feel frustrated they didn't secure a statement pre-season victory.
Carrick's Praise
Carrick admits he and his coaching staff don't want to constantly solve problems for the players during the game, instead seeing if they can find the answers whilst on the pitch, which he's adamant will stand them in good stead for the upcoming season.
He told MUTV: "The things that we were trying to get out of the game, a lot of it was there. It's good sometimes that the boys have to problem solve and find their way a little bit. We don't want to always give them the answers, when we don't have to."
"It prepares them a little bit for the season as well. In that respect, there are a lot of things people don't always see that we were quite happy with. There were some good signs there."
New Signings and Injury Update
Carrick was able to bring on new signing Youri Tielemans during the second-half. The Belgian made a summer move from Aston Villa whilst fellow new boy Andrey Santos began from the start. Both men are part of the club's recruitment drive to bolster their midfield.
The United boss will have breathed a sigh of relief with Mason Mount's premature withdrawal seemingly nothing more than a precautionary measure. The versatile midfielder was forced off in the first-half but was able to walk out of the stadium.
Looking Ahead
Carrick is preparing to embark on his first full season as the club's manager following a stellar interim spell. He came into the dugout in January and presided over a stellar run of results that saw United rise up to third. Now he's being tasked with repeating that form whilst also having to juggle numerous competitions.
