Cristiano Ronaldo's fiancée Georgina Rodriguez and their five children have no immediate plans to return to Saudi Arabia after fleeing to Spain, according to reports. The family left the kingdom on March 3 aboard their private jet, later joined by the Al-Nassr forward, and are currently residing in their Madrid mansion in the exclusive La Finca neighbourhood.
The departure coincided with the children's spring school holidays, which were brought forward due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Spanish publication Vanitatis reports that Ronaldo and Rodriguez made the decision to maintain a sense of normality for their children amid the escalating crisis. While Ronaldo did not feel his family was at risk, he experienced unease and wanted to protect them.
Sources close to Rodriguez, who is originally from Madrid, indicate she is unsure when she will return to Saudi Arabia. The date of the family's return to Riyadh remains undetermined and is not tied to the school calendar. However, contrasting reports suggest Ronaldo's departure is more related to his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained in late February during a match against Al-Fayha.
Al-Nassr's manager Jorge Jesus confirmed the injury is more serious than initially thought, stating: 'Cristiano's injury is more serious than we first thought. He will travel to Spain to receive treatment with a personal therapist, as many players do. We hope he returns soon and can help the team.' Ronaldo's recovery in Madrid aligns with Rodriguez's commitments at Madrid Fashion Week.
The 41-year-old's injury comes as the 2026 World Cup approaches, which many expect to be his final opportunity to represent Portugal and win the tournament. While Ronaldo is expected to return to Al-Nassr training after recovery, it remains unclear whether Rodriguez and their children will accompany him back to Saudi Arabia.
