Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed reports that he and his family have fled Saudi Arabia, with the Al-Nassr star remaining in the kingdom despite rumours of a private jet departure. The Portuguese forward, who joined the Saudi club in 2023, was said to have left for Spain with his fiancée Georgina Rodriguez and their five children on March 3, but sources close to the player confirm he is still in Riyadh.
Speculation arose following claims that the family had relocated to their Madrid mansion in the exclusive La Finca neighbourhood, citing the ongoing conflict in the region. However, Ronaldo's representatives have denied any permanent move, stating that the family's travel was for a pre-planned holiday during the children's spring school break, which was brought forward due to the regional instability.
Reports from Spanish outlet Vanitatis suggested that Rodriguez had no plans to return to Saudi Arabia, but conflicting accounts indicate that Ronaldo's trip to Spain is primarily for rehabilitation from a hamstring injury sustained in late February. Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus confirmed the injury is more serious than initially thought, adding: 'He will travel to Spain to receive treatment with a personal therapist, as many players do. We hope he returns soon and can help the team.'
Ronaldo's recovery in Madrid coincides with Rodriguez's commitments at Madrid Fashion Week, leading to uncertainty about whether the family will return to Saudi after the event. However, the 41-year-old is expected to rejoin Al-Nassr training once fit, with the 2026 World Cup looming as his final opportunity to represent Portugal at the tournament.
Despite the rumours, Ronaldo remains committed to his contract with Al-Nassr, and his family's temporary absence is not indicative of a permanent departure from Saudi Arabia. The club has not commented further on the situation, but sources insist the forward's focus is on his recovery and upcoming fixtures.
