Reece James Delighted for Sister Lauren as Both Chase England Success

Reece James has expressed his delight after his sister Lauren was named in the Lionesses squad for Euro 2025, overcoming injury to earn her place. The Chelsea right-back, himself recalled to the England men’s squad for upcoming friendlies, hopes the siblings can make their parents proud this summer.

James, 25, spoke of his sister’s resilience after she suffered an injury at the end of the season. “I’m delighted for her. She obviously got injured with England at the back end of the season, and I’m happy she got selected to represent England going into another Euros,” he said. The pair have spoken recently, with Lauren focused on training and regaining fitness for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Reece James is aiming to cement his spot in Thomas Tuchel’s side after a difficult period plagued by injuries. He described the past two or three seasons as tough, with repeated setbacks. However, this season has seen him play consistently, winning the Europa Conference League and securing Champions League qualification with Chelsea.

“This season, I feel like I’ve come on leaps and bounds, playing on a consistent basis, getting selected for England again. I’m feeling strong, and for sure, I’m moving in the right direction,” James said. He acknowledged the competition from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kyle Walker for the right-back position but remains unfazed, stating that each player has different capabilities.

The James family are proud to have two children representing their country, and Reece is hopeful that both can feature prominently on the international stage this summer.
