Ratcliffe's Man Utd record: 12 wins, 7 draws, 10 losses

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's in-person Manchester United record stands at 12 wins, seven draws and 10 losses as he prepares to watch the team face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Ratcliffe, who previously held a season ticket at the west London ground, is flying in for the match. Under-pressure boss Michael Carrick may view the minority shareholder as a bad omen, given that United have lost both previous visits Ratcliffe has made to Stamford Bridge since his investment.

Mixed results since investment

Ratcliffe's early attendance after investing in the club brought little joy, starting with a 2-2 home draw against Tottenham. He was present at Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City and celebrated with the team after they beat rivals Manchester City in the final.

However, United have lost three of the last four games Ratcliffe has watched in person. That run includes derby defeats at Old Trafford to Manchester City and Leeds, either side of a victory over Nottingham Forest in the final home game of last season.

Recent run of results

Ratcliffe began 2026 by watching Carrick's first game in charge, a 2-0 win over Manchester City in January, before seeing Arsenal beaten 3-2 at the Emirates later that month. In March he was at St James' Park to watch United lose 2-1 to Eddie Howe's Newcastle.

During the final months of Ruben Amorim's spell as boss, Ratcliffe witnessed a 3-0 derby defeat at the Etihad in September before seeing victories over Chelsea and Brighton at Old Trafford. He also took in a 2-2 draw at Spurs in November 2025 and a 4-1 win over Wolves.

Earlier tenure and overall record

In October 2024, Ratcliffe watched Erik ten Hag's side draw 0-0 at Aston Villa, having earlier seen Liverpool win 3-0 at Old Trafford. Under Amorim, he saw four wins in person, with the first Premier League victory coming at the eighth attempt against Leicester City, followed by a 2-1 Manchester derby win, a 3-1 defeat of Southampton and a 1-0 win over Fulham.

After the Fulham game, fans angered by ticket prices confronted Ratcliffe. He then stayed away for several months before a run of four visits in which United lost each time, including the Europa League final in May. He skipped the final day clash with Aston Villa following that defeat.
