Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin has refused to rule out a move away from Ibrox this summer, with Serie A side Atalanta reportedly keen on the Belgian international. The 25-year-old, currently at the World Cup with Belgium, is said to be a target for the Italian club as a replacement for Ederson, who is attracting interest from Manchester United.
Raskin, who has two years remaining on his Rangers contract, admitted he is focused solely on the World Cup but did not dismiss the possibility of a transfer. “I’m not thinking about that right now. I’m not occupied with that at the moment. I leave that to those who represent me in Belgium,” he said. “Of course, it’s always good to come and get some minutes at the World Cup which is a moment to showcase yourself. But right now, we’ve put club life on hold to concentrate 100 per-cent on what is happening here.”
The midfielder also revealed he has yet to speak with new Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who was appointed earlier this week following Danny Rohl’s departure to Red Bull Salzburg. “No, not yet. I’ve seen a little bit of what’s going on. I’ve had contact with the outgoing coach but I haven’t gathered any more information beyond that,” Raskin said.
Rangers could look to cash in on Raskin this summer to maximise profit on the former Standard Liège star, who joined the club in January 2023. Atalanta are reportedly monitoring his situation, with a potential bid expected after the World Cup.
