Richard Kone scored a hat-trick inside 15 minutes as Queens Park Rangers thrashed Swansea City 5-0 at Loftus Road, with Jimmy Dunne netting twice for the hosts.
Kone opened his account for the season in the second minute, tapping in after Kwame Poku found Paul Smyth, who laid the ball across from the right. The striker doubled the lead on nine minutes when he headed Poku's left-footed cross into the far corner, and completed his treble from the penalty spot six minutes later after Smyth was brought down by goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.
Dunne doubles Rangers' lead
Dunne rose to head home Harvey Vale's corner in first-half stoppage time to make it 4-0 at the break. Swansea had their moments in the opening period, with Adam Idah firing against the bar and Pierce Charles saving well to deny Melker Widell, but QPR were firmly on top.
Swansea boss Vitor Matos made a double substitution at half-time, sending Jenson Seelt and Jay Fulton on for Stephen Welsh and Elijah Just, but the hosts remained comfortable and threatening. Jonathan Varane, starting in place of the injured Nicolas Madsen, steered an effort wide.
Dembele returns after injury
QPR were boosted by the second-half introduction of Karamoko Dembele, who returned 10 months after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The hosts continue to be hampered by injuries, with left-back Boy Kemper hobbling off late on, while Ilias Chair and last season's top scorer Rumarn Burrell are among key players sidelined.
In the 86th minute, Dunne stuck out a leg to divert Kone's off-target shot into the net for his second goal and Rangers' fifth.
The Welsh side, who were top of the Championship until Friday night, suffered their second defeat in a row and remain second in the table. QPR's resounding victory moved them back into the play-off positions in eighth.
