Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has confirmed he will leave the club this summer, sparking interest from several top European clubs. However, Manchester United are reportedly distancing themselves from a move for the Italian international.
Donnarumma helped PSG win the Champions League last season and reach the Club World Cup final, but his time in the French capital has come to an end. He was omitted from the squad for the Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur, with Lucas Chevalier arriving from Lille to replace him.
Premier League clubs Manchester City and Chelsea have also been linked with Donnarumma, but City are considered front-runners according to reports in France. Chelsea, however, are believed to be content with their current goalkeeping options Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.
United's lack of Champions League football this season is a key factor, as Donnarumma is keen to play in Europe's top competition. Galatasaray and Bayern Munich are among the other clubs able to meet his wage demands and can offer Champions League football.
If United were to pursue Donnarumma, it would likely mean an exit for either Andre Onana or Altay Bayindir. Bayindir has played regularly in pre-season and impressed, while Onana is working his way back to full fitness.
