Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Sean Dyche after a goalless draw with Wolves, making him the club's fourth head coach to depart this season. The 0-0 stalemate at the City Ground on Wednesday night saw Forest booed off by their own fans, with owner Evangelos Marinakis visibly frustrated in the stands.
Dyche, 54, lasted just 114 days in charge, having succeeded Ange Postecoglou in October. His dismissal leaves Forest three points above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 matches remaining. A club statement confirmed his departure, thanking Dyche and his staff for their efforts.
Speaking after the draw, Dyche acknowledged his position was under threat, noting that Marinakis has a history of decisive action. Forest registered 35 shots but failed to score, and Marinakis's patience appeared to wear thin during the match.
The sacking continues a turbulent season at the City Ground. Nuno Espírito Santo, who led Forest to seventh place and European qualification last term, was dismissed in September after a breakdown with Marinakis. Postecoglou lasted only 40 days before being axed following a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Dyche, a former Forest trainee who lived locally, took over when the club were 18th. Despite an early win over Porto and a 3-0 victory at Premier League champions Liverpool, Forest have won only two of their last ten league matches and exited the FA Cup to Championship side Wrexham.
