Recobella is tipped to return to winning ways in the Hampton By Hilton Hamilton Park Handicap (5.22) at Hamilton Park on Thursday. The Phil Kirby-trained mare, who has a record of 1-17 overall and 1-14 on turf, finished a close second to Sisterandbrother at Doncaster last time out, suggesting she is close to adding another victory.
Sent off at 7-2 for a seven-runner apprentice handicap over a mile and a half, Recobella and jockey Donagh Murphy came home a half-length behind the Joey Ramsden-saddled winner. The form of that race has been franked, with both Sisterandbrother and fourth-placed It's Only Fun winning since. Dropping from a 0-65 to a 0-55 classification, Recobella looks well treated despite a 1lb rise in the weights.
In the preceding Sodexo Live! Events Handicap (4.51), Gallus Norman is expected to provide in-form trainer Jim Goldie with another winner. The seven-year-old won an amateurs' event at Musselburgh a fortnight ago under Eireann Cagney and, despite a 6lb rise, has untapped potential to follow up.
