The injury leaves Hugo Ekitike as Liverpool's only fit striker, with Cody Gakpo sidelined until the New Year and Mohamed Salah on Africa Cup of Nations duty. Manager Arne Slot admitted after the match that it rarely bodes well when a player cannot continue after scoring.
