Ben Foden and his wife Jackie have welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Olympia. The couple announced the birth, revealing that she was born on January 9 after a high-risk pregnancy.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the pair shared their joy. Olympia, affectionately called Pia, weighed 8lb 3oz at birth. Jackie noted that doctors advised her to deliver on January 9 to avoid the baby becoming too large, estimating she would have been over 10lb if left to full term.
The new arrival joins their three-year-old daughter Farrah. Ben also has two older children, Aoife and Tadgh, from his previous marriage to Una Healy. He praised Jackie as 'incredibly lucky' and said Olympia is her mother's double.
Jackie opened up about her pregnancy struggles, including three previous miscarriages. She admitted to trying not to get excited due to past heartbreak. After the third loss, they adopted a 'see what happens' attitude. Her mother suspected low progesterone levels, which were confirmed, and she began supplements and monitoring.
She also revealed she has marginal cord insertion, a condition where the umbilical cord implants in the wrong area, making the pregnancy higher risk. This required careful monitoring of the baby's growth.
Ben and Jackie married in August 2019, just two weeks after meeting. Ben defended their whirlwind romance on Instagram, stating that despite criticism, he found a deep love with Jackie and saw no reason to wait.
