Manchester United travel to Everton on Sunday looking to build on their 5-2 win over Ipswich, though the mood has been tempered by a quiet transfer deadline day. Despite attempts to sign Lewis Hall and Rayan Ait-Nouri, head coach Michael Carrick did not land another left-back, but he now knows the squad he will work with until at least January.
Carrick has several decisions to make for the trip to Merseyside, including in midfield, where Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo impressed last week. Benjamin Sesko is also pushing for a start up front, which could raise questions over Marcus Rashford and Matheus Cunha.
Charlie Malam's XI: One change from Ipswich win
Charlie Malam would make just one change from the team that beat Ipswich. Harry Maguire has had a poor start to the season, but against Everton's 6ft 5ins Thierno Barry, Carrick might need Maguire's physicality at the back. Lisandro Martinez starts alongside him for his ability on the ball to help United open up spaces in midfield.
Luke Shaw starts over Noussair Mazraoui, though the Moroccan should get a chance in the Champions League in midweek. Carlos Baleba would have started for his running power against an energetic Everton midfield, but he is injured. The only change, for Malam, would be Sesko over Cunha up top for physicality against James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, with Cunha a handy game-changer off the bench.

Jack McEachen's XI: Santos returns for physical battle
Jack McEachen expects Everton to target United with a physical onslaught led by Barry, Tarkowski and James Braithwaite, supplemented by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tyrique George. That is why Sesko must come into the team, even if it is harsh on Cunha, who can still provide an impact in the second half with his towering Slovenian team-mate still getting back to full fitness.
McEachen noted John McGinn's recent comments on Youri Tielemans on The Overlap, where the Aston Villa man praised his former colleague for his athleticism and professionalism. Partnerships of Tielemans and Mainoo can work against the likes of Ipswich at home, but Premier League away days are a different animal. This would be a game for Carlos Baleba in the future, but for now, the tenacious Andrey Santos must return.

Archie Griggs' XI: Keep the winning team
Archie Griggs would keep the same team that beat Ipswich, arguing United showed how clinical they can be in the second half. The only question mark is Luke Shaw, who picked up a knock against Ipswich, but he seems fine to play. If he does not make the cut, Patrick Dorgu could feature on the left side of defence.
