Man Utd vs Roma: Dorgu Out, Predicted XI and Team News

Patrick Dorgu will not be available for Manchester United's Champions League tie against Roma on Tuesday evening, despite returning to team training on Monday. Head coach Michael Carrick confirmed the former Lecce player would not be involved in the match at Old Trafford.

"It was his first day with the group, great to have him back, but he won't be involved tomorrow," Carrick told the media. "We'll see how he progresses for the week [ahead]."

Left-Back Options Thin

The absence leaves United short in the left-back position, with Luke Shaw also sidelined with a muscle problem. Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have recently deputised from right-back, while central defender Leny Yoro has filled in as a makeshift right-sided full-back. Ayden Heaven is another option in that role.

Marcus Rashford remains out with a hip issue that kept him from the defeats by Como and Bournemouth and made him unfit for the Chelsea match. He has not returned to training and will not feature against Roma.

Midfield and Attack Updates

Benjamin Sesko is a longer-term absentee as he recovers from a shin problem. Kobbie Mainoo is available after returning to training ahead of the Chelsea trip and came on as a substitute at Stamford Bridge; he could start in midfield.

Summer signings Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba have been rotated in recent weeks. Matheus Cunha is expected to start on the left flank, with Bryan Mbeumo leading the line. Bruno Fernandes will continue as the No10, and Amad Diallo may feature on the right.

Predicted Man Utd XI (4-2-3-1): Lammens; Yoro, Maguire, Martinez, Dalot; Mainoo, Tielemans; Amad, Fernandes, Cunha, Mbeumo. Injured: Dorgu, Sesko, Shaw, Rashford, Ugarte, Heaton.

The match kicks off at 8pm GMT on Tuesday November 3, 2026, at Old Trafford and will be broadcast on TNT Sports.
