Why the early kick-off?

I know what you are thinking... 'why have we got a 12.30pm game on a Sunday?' It's a valid question, and I'm here to answer it. Basically, treat today like it's a Saturday because the schedule of the day is what we would usually get yesterday. It's like this because, unless you are living under a rock, you will know that it was the FA Cup final yesterday, and well, when that game is on, the Premier League comes to a halt.
Nevertheless, without the top flight, it was still a very fun day, unless you were a Chelsea fan at Wembley. City took home their second trophy of the season at the national stadium, and well, judging by the celebrations, they are by no means finished yet. They were the favourites coming into today's FA Cup final, with Chelsea having an arduous time of it of late. However, it was far from easy for City. Chelsea put in one of their best performances of the season, pushing Pep Guardiola's side all the way, but they were undone by a moment of magic from Antoine Semenyo less than 20 minutes from time. His cheeky flick proved to be the winner, and now City remain in the hunt for a domestic treble. But now it's time for their rivals to take centre stage.
A new era

The show must go on. There will be no curtain call in the reign of Michael Carrick at the Theatre of Dreams; we are only just approaching the end of the first act. Manchester United fans will get to enjoy plenty more of Carrick, it appears, after the news broke yesterday that he will become the club's head coach on a permanent basis. And he will begin his rule against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in a game which reeks of the end of the season.
United have secured Champions League football, so are on the beach, and Forest also have their flip flops on after achieving safety in the Premier League last week. That doesn't mean the vibes are low, though, no... far from it. I'm sure this place, despite the weather, will be a pit of joy come 12:25pm when they welcome out their new full-time boss. He ain't no interim anymore. Let the reign recommence.
