Manchester United may be forced to enter the January transfer market after Benjamin Sesko suffered a knee injury in the draw with Tottenham. The summer signing, who was already the club's only out-and-out striker, will be assessed, but manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that a move is under consideration. 'We have to check everything,' Amorim said, also noting that Bryan Mbeumo's impending Africa Cup of Nations absence leaves the squad short.
Among the potential targets is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian, 25, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with several clubs, including United. He has scored six goals in 15 matches this term, and an early approach could see the Red Devils beat competition from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Tottenham.
Another option is Vitor Roque, the 20-year-old Palmeiras forward who cost Barcelona around £22m. Reports suggest United are 'most interested' in the Brazilian, whose entourage expects bids of around £38m in January. Roque has netted 13 goals in 28 games since returning to Brazil on loan.
Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins has endured a tough season with just one Premier League goal in 11 appearances, missing out on the latest England squad. Villa have previously been open to selling, and United's interest could be revived if the price is right. The Midlands club are reportedly looking for a 'top-class' striker themselves.
Real Madrid's Endrick, 19, is reportedly heading to Lyon on loan in January, but United could offer a similar move with the added benefit of Amorim's Portuguese language ability. A loan deal might be more suitable for United's current situation as they look to bolster their attack.
