Meanwhile, United loanee Harry Amass is reportedly edging towards an exit after a public rebuttal of Amorim's remarks. The teenager, currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, has been linked with a move to Stoke City as part of a 12-club chase for his signature.
Amorim had previously stated that Amass was 'struggling' at Wednesday, prompting the defender to post (and later delete) a picture of himself with the club's player of the month award. The United boss defended his comments, saying: 'I just spoke about how lucky you are to play for Manchester United.'
