Manchester United have added eight players to their squad for Thursday's Champions League opener against Sabah at Old Trafford. The additions, made via the B list, include Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro, who were left out of the initial 25-man squad named last week.
B list additions confirmed
The B list is reserved for young, club-trained players. Those born on or after 1 January 2005, who have been eligible for the club for two consecutive years since turning 15 (or three years including a loan), can be included. The list can be updated before each fixture.
Alongside Mainoo and Yoro, United have registered left-back Harry Amass, defender Daniel Armer, midfielders Jack and Tyler Fletcher, Jim Thwaites and Shea Lacey. Ayden Heaven and Tynan Thompson were not eligible for the B list and have been placed in the 25-man A list instead.
Carrick's European ambitions
Amass could feature after Luke Shaw missed training on Wednesday, with manager Michael Carrick suggesting the defender had earned a recovery day. United return to the Champions League nearly three years after finishing bottom of their group in 2023/24.
Carrick said: "Well, we certainly can achieve it, we're capable of achieving it. It's up to us to then take the step of doing that." He added: "We're capable of some really, really good things, and especially on our day, we feel that we can go up against anybody and come out on top."
