Benjamin Sesko admitted to feeling 'emotional' after scoring a stoppage-time winner for Manchester United against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Slovenia international struck in the dying seconds to secure a 3-2 victory, with interim manager Michael Carrick overseeing a third consecutive Premier League win.
Fulham had equalised twice, including a 91st-minute leveller, but Sesko capitalised on a late cross from Bruno Fernandes to fire into the top right corner. The 20-year-old, who had been introduced from the bench, described the moment as 'unbelievable'.
'It was emotional. It was amazing. It feels like a pleasure, helping the team, helping the fans and the club to secure the win,' Sesko told MUTV. 'When I scored, I just didn't know what was going on. But yeah, what a moment. Amazing time to score it.'
Sesko, who has improved after a slow start to his Manchester United career, also highlighted the team's collective work rate. 'We work as one. It's benefiting us with the ball and off the ball, and, in the end, also with the results,' he added.
Carrick praised the young striker in his post-match press conference, saying: 'Huge moment. I'm so, so pleased. Everyone in the changing room, players, staff, delighted for him. After missing a chance earlier, to go again and put that away... He really deserved it.'
