Arsenal delivered a commanding performance to beat Fulham 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, moving six points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League title race. Viktor Gyokeres scored twice, with Bukayo Saka also on target, as Mikel Arteta's side produced arguably their best first-half display of the season.
Saka, making his first start since returning from an Achilles injury, set up Gyokeres' ninth-minute opener. He then doubled Arsenal's lead in the 40th minute after a sublime pass from Eberechi Eze found Gyokeres, who teed up the England international to beat Bernd Leno at his near post.
Gyokeres completed his brace in first-half stoppage time, heading home Leandro Trossard's cross. The Swedish striker could have had a hat-trick after the break, but Leno denied him. Arsenal cruised through the second half, with David Raya making a fine save from Timothy Castagne and Emile Smith Rowe hitting the side netting.
The result leaves Arsenal six points clear of Manchester City, who have two games in hand. With only three matches remaining – against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace – the Gunners have renewed hope of winning their first league title since 2004. The onus is now on Pep Guardiola's side to respond when they face Everton and Brentford in their next outings.
