More than 26,000 people have had their say on what should happen to Manchester City after the club was found guilty of almost every charge brought against them by the Premier League.
The Manchester Evening News asked readers to give their thoughts on the punishment the Blues should face. A total of 26,270 people voted in the poll, which offered five options.
Readers' verdict on City punishment
The majority of voters (43%) said they wanted the club stripped of all their Premier League titles, relegated and handed a huge fine. A further 34% said nothing should happen next because City have appealed against the decision and the outcome of the appeal is still awaited.
Of the remaining voters, 10% wanted the Blues relegated, 8% said a huge fine was enough, and 5% believed that stripping them of their Premier League titles was enough.
Appeal uncertainty remains
The club have appealed against the decision, but it remains unclear whether the appeal will be concluded before a punishment is set, or whether City will be punished first and the punishment amended once the appeal outcome is known.
Enzo Maresca spoke about the outcome of the case at his press conference on Friday and said he was confident City will win their appeal.
