Madueke Hits Back at Critics After Arsenal's Champions League Final Loss

Arsenal forward Noni Madueke has responded to criticism after the Gunners' Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old, who came on as a substitute in the final, was criticised for not taking a penalty in the shootout, which Arsenal lost 4-2.

Madueke posted on Instagram alongside a picture of himself and Declan Rice holding the Premier League trophy: "Champions! Whilst others are tweeting and posting. Thank you God. The glory is yours!" Rice commented: "Jealously everywhere," with four laughing emojis.

Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title by winning the league, but fell short in the Champions League final, losing on penalties to holders PSG. Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes missed their spot kicks.

During the victory parade, Rice warned rivals: "They laughed. They are not laughing anymore. I love this team, I love this manager. To see the joy we can give people is crazy. But next year we are coming back for more. Lock in or get locked out."

Manager Mikel Arteta told fans: "On behalf of the team, this is just amazing to witness. You have created this. This is your moment to make sure that we all enjoy it together. Have a beautiful day. Let's go, Arsenal!"

Arsenal will face Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 16 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Rice added after the final: "We are going to use this moment to add fuel to the upcoming seasons. There is no reason why we are stopping here."
