Luke Littler’s Mock Retirement Video Reveals His Playful Side

Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has once again shown he does not take himself too seriously, this time by posting a mock retirement video that had fans briefly worried. In the clip, the 18-year-old, known as 'The Nuke', appears to announce he is stepping back from the sport, only to reveal it is a joke.

Littler, who became the youngest-ever world champion earlier this year, has a history of self-deprecating humour and light-hearted jabs at rivals. His social media following has skyrocketed since his debut, and he has previously joked about fellow player Luke Humphries having far fewer Instagram followers.

He has also admitted to being 'lazy in the practice room', agreeing with comments made by James Wade about some players lacking dedication. After an early exit from the 2024 World Matchplay, Littler entered an amateur tournament in Cheshire, winning the £1,000 prize and joking about being paid 'cash in hand'.

Even on the oche, Littler can laugh at his mistakes. During a Premier League match in 2024, he missed double tops by a wide margin, hitting the board maker's name instead, and then pretended to search for his dart in a comedic gesture.
