Luke Littler Boycotts German Darts Masters Over Fixture Clash

Luke Littler has hinted he will skip German tournaments until the European Tour's October grand finale after a disappointing exit at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich. The world champion, known as 'The Nuke', lost 7-4 to Dutchman Gian van Veen in the semi-finals, despite averaging 95.78.

Littler took to Instagram after the match, posting a sombre picture from his car journey back and writing: 'Shouldn't have been in Munich but had to play anyway. Next one in Germany for me is Dortmund and I am glad to say that.' He had earlier secured his Monday slot by defeating Cam Crabtree, then beat Joe Cullen and Peter Wright before falling to Van Veen, who averaged an astonishing 110.81.

During the tournament, parts of the crowd cheered against Littler, particularly when they supported Peter Wright in the quarter-finals. After his loss, Littler ignored the crowd, making clear his eagerness to leave Munich.
